Is solar worth it in Scotland?

Yes — a well-designed system on a reasonably unshaded roof typically generates a meaningful share of a household’s annual electricity, and battery storage increases the value further. We provide honest, property-specific generation estimates as part of a free design, so you can judge the payback for your own home.

Do solar panels need planning permission in Scotland?

In most cases roof-mounted solar on a house is covered by permitted development rights in Scotland, so no planning application is needed. Listed buildings and conservation areas can be exceptions — we flag any issues during the survey.

Can I add battery storage to an existing solar system?

Usually, yes. We retrofit battery storage to most existing solar PV installations, either AC-coupled alongside your current inverter or as part of an inverter upgrade.
